An Approach LED is a simple but effective tool to help sites make machine movements safer. It indicates to a worker or pedestrian on site, when it is safe to approach the machine by flashing either a green 'thumbs up' or a red 'X'.
The system connects directly to the machine's handbrake or deadman lever, and can only flash the green thumbs up signal if either have been engaged. The operator must then press a button in-cab, indicating that it is safe to approach. As soon as the handbrake or deadman lever is disengaged, the LED will automatically revert to the red 'X'.
