The grace period will run for six months , starting on 28 October 2024 and ending at 23:59 on 4 May 2025. This extension period allows you additional time to comply with DVS requirements. Applying for the grace period isn’t automatic, and there are important steps you’ll need to take.
The grace period's duration was confirmed in July 2024, providing operators with time to organise compliance with the new legislation however, to qualify you need to submit an application with proof that your vehicle is scheduled for Progressive Safe System installation between the October deadline and the Grace Period deadline.
How to Qualify for the Grace Period
To apply you must provide evidence that you have arranged for the installation of the Progressive Safe System after 28 October 2024 but before 5 May 2025.
