Afonwen Laundry is one of the UK’s largest laundry and linen hire companies with a fleet of over 65 vehicles operating nationally out of depots in Pwllheli, Cardiff, Chester, Reading and Leeds. The business delivers over 3 million items of linen a week to the corporate 4 star to budget hotel sectors across England and Wales and was recently acquired by Johnson Service Group plc.
VUE were introduced to Afonwen Laundry in 2015 following a year which had seen a significant increase in the cost of their fleet insurance. Working with Afonwen Laundry and its Insurer a six month trial of a four-camera CCTV system and VUEtrak was agreed. The camera systems would not only act as an aid to the driver but would also ensure that safe systems of work when loading and unloading vehicles was maintained at all times. The VUEtrak telematics system gave Afonwen Laundry visibility of their fleet whilst the suite of reports provided by VUEtrak enabled Afonwen Laundry to ensure that the highest standard of driving behaviour by their drivers at all times.

During the trial VUE worked closely with Afonwen Laundry sharing Risk Management experience and expertise focusing not only reducing claims frequency but also ensuring that all associated claims costs were controlled with improved reporting processes.
Following the success of the trial Afonwen Laundry have now embarked of a staged roll out of VUE CCTV and VUEtrak across the fleet.
