Software Developer –  Salford Quays – Competitive Salary

The role …

The role of Software Developer is really important to us.

You will be responsible for helping us make our business a market leader through improving customer experience and interactions. The successful candidate will have experience in software development, using a range of current technologies and a passion for all things digital.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious Developer with a hands-on approach to elevate themselves on the next step of their career with a willingness to help shape the future growth of the team.

We would love to welcome you to our team, working a hybrid role Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

What would your day to day look like?

  • Involved in design and implementation of various software development projects
  • Liaising with key stakeholders on user requirements
  • Applying code quality and risk management standard practices
  • Providing existing software support, including production support
  • Working in the world of connected telematics devices, examples of projects undertaken are customised big data dashboards, through to customer portal solutions to view connected devices or cloud based fille storage/sharing applications.

What do we expect of you?

We are looking for someone with commercial experience as a Software Developer (minimum 18 months) using a range of technologies across the full software lifecycle.

This could include:

  • Python / Node.js / React
  • AWS Cloud Services (EC2, Lambda, EKS etc)
  • MSSQL / MySQL / PostgreSQL / MongoDB
  • JavaScript with React, Hooks, Redux
  • Git for version-control
  • Project specification and planning in Agile

In addition, you’ll demonstrate the following:

  • Desire to learn and improve.
  • A hands-on approach, ‘gets the job done’.
  • Enjoys the responsibility and benefits of working in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Good problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good planning and time-management skills.
  • Desire to work using Agile principles such as TDD and CI/CD.
  • Desire to work closely with others, through pair programming and scrum ceremonies.
  • Able to confidently work individually on personal objectives.
